Kaitlyn’s Dream Bedroom & Bathroom Makeover with Sunshine on a Ranney Day
Vickers Design Group |Sunshine on a Ranney Day is a local nonprofit that builds custom dream bedrooms, accessible bathrooms, and in-home therapy rooms for children with special needs. Our team worked with Sunshine on a Ranney Day to design Kaitlyn’s dream bedroom and bathroom!
Kaitlyn lost oxygen during birth and experienced seizures shortly after. At 8 months old, she was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and has been in weekly speech, physical, and occupational therapy. She uses a communication device and a power wheelchair.
Despite the challenges, Kaitlyn loves doing yoga, playing Mario Kart with an adaptive controller, and baking with her family. Kaitlyn’s new room provides an accessible space to give her more independence and a calm place to relax at the end of sometimes tough and overstimulating days.
Junior Interior Designer Laura Veloz-Powell led the design for Kaitlyn’s room.
